Cloud Head

With all of the rain falling in Northern California this weekend I kept thinking of how opposite the weather had been this past summer––how dry the land, and how low the level of Shasta Lake. About a year ago I made this drawing regarding this basic and practical need for water. The image is also a metaphor for having one’s “head in the clouds”––a phrase that is often derogatory towards imaginative people for their presumed lack of practicality. However, creative ideas can lead to real solutions. It is one of the ways in which heaven comes to earth.
